Two mountaineers on the summit of Mount Meru

Our way to the summit of Mount Meru

Climbing Mount Meru is far more of an adventure than simply preparing for the ascent of Kilimanjaro. The mountain captivates by an extremely varied landscape as well as flora and fauna. It is therefore worth a trip in any case. In the following three articles we describe in detail our experience of the four-day ascent of Mount Meru.

We get to know the Arusha National Park and Mount Meru

We get to know the Arusha National Park and Mount Meru. In this blog article we tell you in detail about our journey to Mount Meru and the first steps on the mountain. During the first day we already saw countless animals like buffalos, zebras and monkeys. After an impressive climb we finally spent the night in the Miriakamba Huts.

Our varied hike takes us to the summit of Mount Meru

In the meantime, we had arrived well on the mountain and our hike continued diversely with great views of the Kilimanjaro. In this article we also tell you in detail about our nocturnal hike up to the summit of Mount Meru, Socialist Peak. Up there we experienced unique moments during a sunrise and had magnificent views of Kilimanjaro, which we share here with you.

Canoeing on Momella Lake

After our hike we discover Arusha National Park

After great impressions from the summit of Mount Meru we continue the last day of our hike tranquilly. We finally leave Mount Meru and go on a small game drive through Arusha National Park. During our canoe trip in Momella Lake we finally discover the impressive hippos of Africa for the first time.
